West London Sinfonia was delighted to welcome Iwona as their leader in 2013. After winning the highest awards as a young violinist in her native Poland, she came to study at the Royal College of Music in London, and went on to win international violin competitions in Warsaw and Mexico. She led both the Krakow Radio Symphony Orchestra and London Gay Symphony Orchestra, and is a currently a principal player with the Apollo Chamber Orchestra and the Southern Sinfonia. As a soloist she has played with Polish, German and English orchestras, and has given recitals all over Europe in repertoire covering baroque through to contemporary and jazz.
Iwona is a criminal barrister at Furnival Chambers in the City of London. In her spare time she is an enthusiastic participant in the west London tennis scene.
